heidelberg 2004 - enjoy the streets « Read Less
a revue of street art in my hometown of heidelberg... a wonderful cross between sticker art and graffiti, just without the damage, or the fines that go with it!
the true face of us liberty?
a few days before president george w bush spoke of the 'fact' that "survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands", the human rights watchdog human rights watch accused the US of actually eroding human rights and warned that abuses committed by the US have significantly weakened the world's ability to protect human rights, with other states citing US records of human rights as a template for their own forms of tyranny. so much for the vow to end all tyranny. dubya is the one who's fomenting it!

how about you let us in on your little secret, alexv? shall I translate? alexv's comment means "this sort of anti-american bullshit is unfortunately all too typical for germany today. you haven't learnt anything". okay, point taken, but how about this for a fact which emerged today. a us judge today deemed guantanomo "unconstitutional", yes, _unconstitutional_. I will grant you that the above illustration only illustrates one facette of today's american political culture, but it is a facette that is all too present. it has nothing to do with being anti-american, it has to do with wanting america to be a better place for this whole planet. and that, funnily enough, seems to be something not a lot of people agree is the current state, as the majority of the world believes the us is the greatest threat to world peace nowadays...
